The KeepSmiling
Alliance promotes emotional encouragement and
hope for individuals living with a life threatening
illness. It is our belief that a simple smile lifts
the spirit, touches the heart and nourishes the soul.
We are a non-profit, non-denominational organization
whose efforts are supported by community volunteers
who fundraise throughout the year.
In December 2002, the owner of The Framing Edge founded
a charitable organization called the "KeepSmiling
Alliance". It was created to help bring
smiles to the faces of patients who are ill and in
the hospital for treatment over the holiday seasons.
Hi, My name is Buttercup. I'm
a soft plush toy and the Mascot for the KeepSmiling Alliance.
My friends at The KeepSmiling Alliance thought you might
need a little cheering up, so I have the honour of being
picked to be your new best friend.
You see I'm here
just for you; no one else, just you.
I'm the happiest hippo in town. If you need
a hug, give me a squeeze.
If you are feeling a little lonely and need someone to
talk to, go ahead I can keep a secret.
But the best thing about me, is you. So
no matter what, you keep smiling! It feels so good
to smile, and best of all, I'll be smiling right here
with you.
If you know someone who needs a little friend
to smile with, just contact my friends at the Keepsmiling
Alliance. We'll see if you can send them a smile!
We may not always be able
to heal someone’s body, but we should not stop trying
to touch their hearts.
Please

Smiling is infectious,
You catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today,
I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner,
and someone saw my grin,
When he smiled I realized,
I'd passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile,
Then I realized its worth,
A single smile just like mine,
Could travel round the earth.
So if you feel a smile begin,
Don't leave it undetected -
Let's start an epidemic quick
And get the world infected!
If you have an inspirational poem, story or photograph
that you would like to share,
please email it to The
Framing Edge. You never know; it may show up on our
website.
A smile costs nothing
but gives so much.
Please help us to continue to spread smiles.

The KeepSmiling
Alliance is a proud supporter of the Christopher Reeve
Foundation.
"Christopher [and Dana] Reeve redefined
courage and hope. [They] believed that to overcome any
adversity in your life, no matter how challenging, you
need to Go Forward each day with strength, determination
and compassion."
To read Dana and Christopher Reeve's life
story you would think you are reading a novel, but instead
you are reading about the inspiring life journey of two
people. Their legacy has inspired me to "go forward".
No matter what anything can be achieved if you continue
to "Go Forward".
Please
- "Buy the Tag to pay tribute to The Reeve’s
incredible vision and legacy and to challenge yourself
and those around you to achieve your own personal greatness
– one day at a time. Wear the tag. Tell a friend.
Spread the work. Go Forward".
